Dussehra - Hidden Facts
A lot
such things are done on Dusshera which shouldn’t be done as they are incorrect
rather useless too…
For example first let us consider distributing Apta leaves (Bauhinia racemosa) as gold on Dusshera, may it be a long tradition now needs to be corrected.
On one hand we give messages to save environment & on the contrary pluck the Apta leaves unnecessarily...
But now the
number of apta trees has come down drastically and there is a need to save
these trees.
The apta
tree has no fragrance and does not bear fruit. So very few people plant it. As
a result, the number of apta trees has decreased. Apta trees are found outside
the village. The sellers bring in large quantities of apta leaves to sell on
Dussehra in the market. Whereas, on the next day large quantity of dried apta
leaves can be found thrown in the garbage. Therefore, offering apta leaves on
Dussehra is merely destroying the environment.
Apta tree
has scientific importance, the ability to absorb carbon dioxide emitted from
vehicles and animals as well as atmospheric dust is high in Apta trees.
This
Dusshera let us decide no more plucking of Bauhinia racemosa leaves.
Now let us
next consider Ravan Dahan…
Effigies (a roughly made model of a person that is made in order to be damaged or destroyed) of Ravana along with his brother Kumbhakarana and son Meghananda are burnt.
First of all
let me clear, it’s definitely incorrect to burn the effigies of unknown,
especially when you don’t know the exact truth.
But isn’t it
what we were doing and still continue to do every single year on Dusshera,
don’t we???
And we fell nothing about it…
It’s time
to know…
They taught
us the history with a wrong aspect…
They will
tell you that Ravana abducted Sita!!!
But they
won’t explain you why, will they???
He did that because
his sister Shupanakha’s nose was cut by Lakshmana.
So Ravana
went in search of Ram and Lakshman but he wasn’t able to find them.
As a brother
Ravana’s anger was justified…
Would you
silence if your sister was at Shupanakha’s place ???
I believe that there should be a Ravan in everyone who can suspass any battle for the love of his sister!
It’s time to
introspect…
They fooled
us…
They
portrayed the history before us in a wrong manner…
Whatever but
we have brains and we do understand if Ravana was portrayed evil why is he worshipped...
As always my statement isn’t baseless.
Presenting
the examples-
Eg.1.
Gadchiroli, Maharashtra
The tribals of Gadchiroli consider Ravana and his son, Gods. According to the Gond Tribals, Valmiki had mentioned in the Ramayana that Ravana did not do anything wrong. It was only Goswami Tulsidas who portrayed him as evil. So, The people in Gadchiroli believe that Ravana was a great soul who must be worshipped.
Eg.2. Mandya
and Kolar, Karnataka
Ravana's
devotion to Lord Shiva is praised by the people of Mandya and Kolar in
Karnataka. Locals in the Kolar district worship Ravana during the harvest
festival. They keep the idol of Dashanan along with Lord Shiva and offer
prayers. On the other hand, people in Mandya visit Ravana's temple and honour
his devotion for Lord Shiva.

Ravana –
The Villian
‘Everybody is a villain in someone’s story…'
They
portrayed Ramayana before us, as per their own convenience and POV. So the
right and wrong is with accordance to them.
And today
what we know is what they tell!
So the way Ravana
has been depicted is wrong.
They have
shown as what their Ravana is.
The real
face of Ravana was something else.
Before
uselessly contradicting that Ravana was a bad ruler/king, I suggest you to read
or understand Ramayana.
Yes it's
absolutely true what I said!
Read!!! (Not
learn)
There you
will find the truth!
Lanka under
Ravana was a happy place.
There was no
injustice under his rule.
Only because
of the war between Ram and Ravana You cant say that he was a demon.
Who Started
the war indeed?
It was Lakshmana, remember?
He was a great human.
I abide by
the constitution.
The
constitution has given us rights that if any practices or acts done on purpose
harm or hurt our sentiments they should be banned or stopped.
I'm not unnecessarily
instigating people. But what is wrong remains wrong even if the world as in
favor of it.
& what
is wrong needs to be corrected.
So stop
Ravan Dahana or it would like we murdering our own ancestors again and again
without any valid reason.

Very well written. You make Me Proud ! All our festivals and celebrations are based on nature and agriculture. They also celebrated to respect mother in all forms. We must also not forget the our ancestors sacrifices which are not only forgotten but also disregarded and dishonoured through mythologycal writings. Our ancestors were nature worshippers. So follow them..
